A lower stack height provides increased ground feel and heightens your connection to the earth. A padded heel collar and pyramidal midsole geometry promotes confident footing in technical environments, allowing you to reach new heights.

Great trail feel

I like these shoes. I wanted some Canadian-designed shoes that would allow me to feel the trail. I broke my ankle two years ago - which also damages prioception so I need all the help I can get. They feel secure on my feet and I trust them to grip the rocks and wood I need them to.
Only complaint is that it feels like the foam wears out faster than with some other shoes I've had.

Great shoes! Loving them. Potential improvements (there’s always room, right?): Slightly thicker tongues to prevent bite from laces (and Stryd clips) and I would love to see a shoe with zero drop.

good, nearly great

Thoughts after 100+ miles in these shoes:

Pros: Great ground feel, shoe geometry creates a subtle sense of forward motion, outsole sufficient for most conditions (though not *great* on slippery rock). I've put these shoes through some sloppy, gnarly conditions late in Wisconsin winter through mud and snow and they are tanks - the Dyneema seems truly indestructible. Norda's recommendation to go up 1 full size is accurate. These are a great a complement to the 001a's - both are completely different in underfoot feel in particular - and the 002's are ultimately great as a daily trainer or even race shoe up to 50k (at least for me).

Cons: These run wide for me, to the point where my feet feel like I'm swimming in them and lockdown is challenging, though this could be in part due to my relatively narrow foot. The midsole is fairly mellow and neutral-feeling, and sometimes I'm left wanting a little more *pop* out of it.

Overall: very solid shoes that I enjoy taking out for daily runs, and I think an update to the midsole and more focused fit in the heel and midfoot could elevate these from being very good to great. All in all, I think the 001a's are more worth the cost at this price point - the Arnitel TPEE midsole is truly exceptional - though the 002's are a great complement to that shoe as well.

Loving the new shoes

Loving the new shoes. They still need some breaking in, but they are great for biking and running. They really shine on the steep, muddy path I take to the trail. I used to slip all the time in my Hokas (that I also love but they are just old now), but now with the Nordas I have amazing grip. No more falling...:-)
