The 002 runs small. Most runners size up a full size. If you’re between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger one.

Yes. The 002 accommodates wider feet thanks to its anatomical toe box. While not classified as a “wide” shoe, many runners with wider feet find it comfortable.

Yes. All norda footwear has an anatomical toebox to allow for natural foot splay.

Yes. The 002 was specifically designed to provide a low-to-the-ground feel on technical terrain. Its Dyneema upper, Vibram SLE midsole and Vibram Litebase/Megagrip outsole ensure that it’s durable, protective, supportive and grippy across all types of terrain.

Yes. The 002’s lightweight construction and durability make it suitable for long distances. It is not categorized as a “max cushion” shoe, however, so runners who prefer more cushioning or a thicker midsole instead of a low-to-the-ground feel may want to look towards the 001A or 005.

The standard 002 is water-resistant. Dyneema® is hydrophobic and does not absorb water, but the woven construction allows for airflow and drainage.

Yes. The traction, durability and cushioning of norda shoes makes them an excellent option for winter running. 

For extreme or icy conditions, the 001 G+ Spike is ideal. It’s a winterized version of our foundational 001 model  equipped with durable carbide steel spikes that provide traction on snow and even ice.

The bio-based Dyneema® upper is engineered for extreme durability and abrasion resistance.

By weight, Dyneema® is up to 15x stronger than steel and significantly more durable than traditional mesh or knit uppers. Durability is one of the defining features of the 002.

Dyneema® delivers exceptional abrasion resistance, cut resistance, and long-term durability, without adding weight. Compared to traditional mesh or knit uppers, it maintains structure and performance far longer, which directly contributes to the 002’s longevity and cost-per-wear advantage.

The 002 features a custom Vibram® outsole developed exclusively with norda.

Vibram®, founded in 1937 in Italy, is widely regarded as the leader in high-performance rubber compounds. Our proprietary Vibram® formulation balances grip, durability, and traction across wet rock, loose terrain, and groomed trails alike — ensuring consistent performance in varied trail conditions.

It depends on how hard you are on your shoes and the conditions you play in. norda footwear is put through rigorous lab testing and trail running before final production, and built with the finest materials available to ensure its longevity.

As a general guideline, running shoes should be replaced around 700 km (500 miles).

However, many norda athletes exceed 1,600 km (1,000 miles) in their 002 while maintaining performance. Longevity is a key reason customers cite norda’s lower cost per wear compared to traditional trail shoes.

Yes. All norda insoles are removable. Simply replace the stock insole with your custom orthotic.

The 001A is the workhorse model of the norda lineup, an optimally-cushioned ultra distance shoe capable of daily training efforts and racing alike. The 001A features an upgraded midsole with Arnitel TPEE foam for greater responsiveness and energy return.
